Moms, I applaud you.

This sounds like it would be a post for Mother's day, but it's not. See, I recently took on the job of watching my nephews while my sister is at work. Monday through Friday, from the time I wake up til about 5:30pm. Notice how I said 'until the time I wake up'? I'm lucky enough that most days my dad will watch them in the morning until I wake up. I'm SO thankful to him for that. I'm usually up by 8:30 or 9:00, depending on how bad my insomnia was the night before. Unfortunately my dad is out of town today so my mom woke me up when she left for work. At 7:30. I think I got a whole 4 hours of sleep. Blech.

My nephews are 2 (3 in a couple of days), and 4. They are such typical siblings. If anyone get's mad at one of them the other is quick to come to his defence with a "Hey! That's my brother!" but they hit, kick, and push each other daily and have no problem doing it.

This morning I had all three of us up, fed, dressed, teeth brushed, and ready to play outside by 10 am. I'm pretty proud of that. 2 days ago we pretty much stayed in pajamas all day.

I'm currently sitting in the basement watching the 4 year old take pictures of his block tower with my phone. It's kind of adorable. 2 year old is saying "Mine's towler" (he also says "wittle" instead of "little" and it cracks me up every time.)

Kids are EXHAUSTING. And they're difficult. And they throw themselves on the ground in the middle of the sidewalk and refuse to move (aka the 2 year old on our walk home from picking the 4 year old up from preschool yesterday). They fight, and they scream, and they freak out if you give them the wrong colored cup. Every day when their mom comes I hand them over and go take a nap. For like 2 or 3 hours. I'm that tired.

(And now they're fighting over a Mickey Mouse Yahtzee game. Not so cute anymore...)

So moms, you are amazing.
