Book Review: Hex Hall Series by Rachel Hawkins

Monday, May 18, 2015

I'm one of those people who will either spend 4 months trying to get through one book or read 15 in a week. I think it's just a matter of finding the right book to get you started. This past Friday after finishing a book that took me forever to read (it's not that I didn't like it, I just couldn't read more than like 30 pages at a time without getting distracted.), I started looking through my to-read list on goodreads. I noticed that the first Hex Hall book was on my list and decided to start reading it.

Not even through the first page of the book I was reminded that this was another paranormal book with witches, werewolves, vampires,  shapeshifters, fairies, etc. Well, that put me off for a minute because there are just so many of those books out there now that it's really getting old. I decided that if it was on my list then I put it there for a reason and the story must be intriguing, so I kept reading.

First of all, this book? Not like the hoards of others of its kind, in my opinion at least. After being slightly cautious when I first starting reading I ended up not being able to put these books down. I read the whole series in barely 3 days. I haven't read through a series that quickly in months. I finished 5 books over the weekend and 3 of them were this series.

Remember when I said it's all about finding the right book? Yup. I found it.

Do yourself a favor and read this series!
